From the end of Temescal Rivas Canyon, you can add a couple more miles by heading into Will Rogers State Historic Park and up to Inspiration Point. Will Rogers, combined with Rivas, makes for a 7 mile run with about 1,400' of gain.
Heading up into Will Rogers State Historic Park from the end of Temescal Rivas Canyon.
Heading up to Inspiration Point.
There's a few sections of steep, technical single track on the way up.
A nice section of single track that branches out from the fire road and goes the rest of the way to the top. For some crazy reason, everyone takes the fire road instead of this. Their loss, my gain.
Some nice single track towards the top.
The trail rejoins the fire road at the trailhead for the Backbone Trail leading into Topanga State Park.
Rest area at the top. I wonder who owns that huge house on the top of the hill out there. You definitely see more people here in the morning then most of the surrounding area, but it's still a great spot.
A look towards downtown Santa Monica with the polo field in the foreground.
