Big Bear

Big Bear has a little too much city to make it feel like remote mountain trail, but the lake scenery is definitely nice, and there are some great stretches of PCT in the area.

Holcomb Valley

3/21/15 Up to Big Bear again, this time down into Holcomb Valley. Lots of fireroad, but also some great stretches on the PCT, for over 16 miles and over 2,000' of gain.

2/22/15 A quick run to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. At 9,952', it's the tallest peak in Big Bear valley. 12.5 miles round trip and 3,300' of gain, with great views of San Gorgonio along the way.

Bertha Peak

1/4/2014 A short run on the Cougar Crest trail made for a great 7 mile, 1500' trip up to Bertha Peak above the North shore of the lake.
